8-9 September 2025. 8th conference of the Swiss Association for Gender Studies
Against the backdrop of pressing current issues – climate changes, artificial intelligence, anti-democratic and authoritarian seizures of power, wars and persistent global and domestic inequalities – the 8th conference of the Swiss Association of Gender Studies invites participants under the theme "wissen – savoir – sapere – know(-ledges)" to address these – and other – questions together.
The 8th conference of the Swiss Association for Gender Studies (SAGS) will take place at the University of Basel. It invites contributions from the field of gender studies around the conference theme "wissen – savoir – sapere – know(-ledges)".
This theme offers an entry point to foster exchange among gender studies scholars from various disciplines and fields of research. The conference aims to promote the gender studies community and connect Swiss and international researchers. It welcomes participants from all career levels in academia and related fields of expertise addressing the conference topic as well as other questions and topics pertinent to gender studies.

The conference welcomes speakers of all career stages and invites theoretical as well as empirical contributions from all disciplines as well as inter- and transdisciplinary approaches, artistic performances, and other forms of intervention addressing the conference topic as well as other questions and topics pertinent to gender studies.
